Michael Haley is an attorney at Haley Law who specializes in personal injury, medical malpractice, and civil rights cases. Shortly after starting at Haley Law, Michael quickly established himself as a prominent attorney in his field. He has assisted in securing multiple seven and eight-figure settlements in cases where the defendants offered little or no money at the start of litigation.
In 2021, Michael served as co-counsel in obtaining a settlement of $13.5 million for two minor children who lost their parents in a trucking collision. In that same year, he assisted in securing a $5.3 million settlement for the family of a young man shot and killed by a City of Santa Clara police officer.
In 2019, Michael served as co-counsel in jury trial in which he represented a woman who suffered significant injury during a botched vaginal hysterectomy. The at-fault physician refused to admit liability and provided no offer to settle the matter. Following a three-week trial, the jury returned a verdict in favor of Michael’s client.
Michael is the third generation to join Haley Law and a native of Oakland who is active in the Bay Area legal community. He is a member numerous professional organization including the Alameda County Bar Association and the Alameda-Contra Costa County Trial Lawyers Association
Michael earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law. During his time at USF Law, he was awarded the Arthur C. Zief scholarship and served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Justice Ming W. Chin of the Supreme Court of California.
